Sandbox environment

The Sandbox environment is where your integration with the Tesouro API begins. It allows you to register your sandbox account, generate client ID and client secrets, and then use these credentials to connect to the Tesouro API on sandbox. Sandbox provides an optimal environment for validating your integrations and business scenarios prior to their activation in the Production setting. This significantly mitigates the potential for unforeseen behaviors and issues that could impact your clients. We highly advise utilizing the Sandbox when transitioning to newer versions of the API. By establishing a connection between your staging environment and our Sandbox, you can consistently test and implement your modifications, ensuring they are robust and effective before they are deployed in the Production environment.

Important considerations

When using the Tesouro Sandbox environment, please keep in mind the following:
  • The Sandbox environment data and settings are entirely separate from the Production environment and cannot be migrated between them.
  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs) on the Sandbox are best-effort and may be significantly lower than those in the Production environment.
  • Data retention in the Sandbox is not guaranteed indefinitely. The retention period is limited and subject to the platform’s needs and capacity.
  • The Sandbox environment cannot be used to go live. To do so, you must create an account in the Production environment.

The Production environment is used to host your live application. Here, you will have to register a new account and then inform Tesouro that you’re ready to go live.

Important considerations

Please note that you are not permitted to use our Production environment without a signed contract with us. Violations of this term will result in the immediate suspension of your account and the deletion of all associated data. Prior to going live, ensure that all your API URLs and keys are correct.
